Graduate Admissions Counselor – 34034

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Graduate Admissions Counselor assists the admissions team in recruiting new students, executing prospect and application management, maintaining an
organized office, and counseling prospective students to obtain enrollments. In addition, the counselor works with the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment
Services (Graduate and International)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Recruitment
• Recruit qualified graduate students for programs assigned
• Visit colleges at regional and national fairs during days, evenings, and weekends
• Conduct presentations in college classes
• Hosts territory receptions to engage prospective graduate students
• Work with Alumni to build new recruitment initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with college department
• Make recommendations for graduate articulation agreements
• Recruit students from corporate partners
• Record recruiting data

2. Prospect and Applicant Management
• Field questions via telephone, mail, and email and tele-counsels’ prospects and applicants
• Fulfill prospect and applicant information requests
• Update Database with all student and staff-initiated contact information
• Counsel prospective students
• Call applicants to follow up and keep up to date
• Call admitted students who have been interviewed to follow up
• Makes admission decisions on applicant files
• Schedule individual appointments with prospective students

3. Prepares for Admissions On-Campus Events
• Communicate and promote on-campus events to prospective students via
mail, email, phone and in person
• Reserve and prepare rooms for on-campus events
• Present at on-campus events
• Tour prospective students and families
• Follow-up with students and families

4. Reports data and provides analysis
• Reports weekly prospect and applicant communication progress to AVP
• Prepares follow-up reports for each type of on-campus event
• Produces an annual report on territorial management and prospect and applicant outcomes
5. Project Management – Present and execute approved projects as per the directive of leadership
6. Participate in all college-wide programs
7. Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to travel
• Ability to multitask
• Independent-working skills
• Well-organized
• Project management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to troubleshoot

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• One-year Admissions experience
• EPS and Recruitment Plus experience
• CRM (Slate) experience
• Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
