Living Learning Communities

Alma offers a wide variety of LLCs concentrated around shared interests, themes, backgrounds or fields of study, including:

• The Julius Chatman LLC for Campbell Scholars.
• The Scots in Service LLC for students engaged in the community.
• The Transfer LLC  for transfer students.
• The Alma Achieves LLC for first-year students focused on academic success.

Because LLCs are smaller, more intimate communities, you’ll deepen your sense of belonging on campus and build strong connections. Many LLCs also offer specialized programming and support. Plus, by participating, you may be eligible for a stipend or housing credit.

The benefits don’t end there. Research shows that students who participate in LLCs are typically more engaged on campus and receive more support from their peers and professors. And because LLCs immerse students in the full campus experience, they can boost your academic success, too.
