Biography
Dr. Julie Robinson’s doctorate in counselor education is from the University of North Texas, where she specialized in play therapy under Dr. Garry Landreth, a world-renowned play therapist. She has been teaching in counselor education programs for 25 years.
Dr. Robinson is currently the founding director of the MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Alma College. Dr. Robinson received the Counselor Educator of the Year Award from the Illinois Counselor Educators and Supervisors Division of the Illinois Counseling Association and the Mentor of the Year award from the North Central Association of Counselor Education and Supervision.
She has served as a play therapist on the children’s diabetes team in New Castle England, directed a children’s hospice program in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and had a private practice in Illinois. Her research interests include play therapy with chronically and terminally ill children, and counselor education training.
