Commencement
Celebrate the Class of 2025 on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the Hogan Center, Art Smith Arena.
We look forward to welcoming you and your guests for a special weekend in which we celebrate your achievements with a traditional commencement ceremony. Doors open to the public at 1 p.m.; the ceremony begins promptly at 2 p.m.

Commencement Rehearsal (required)

Hogan Center, Art Smith Arena
Graduating students are required to attend this event, which will include a walk-through of the commencement ceremony and graduate line-up.
Baccalaureate (optional)
Friday, April 18 at 5:00 p.m.
Thomas Andison Chapel
Graduates, friends, family and supporters are invited to attend this special service in the Chapel, honoring their upcoming commencement. After Baccalaureate, you can head to the Senior Celebration.
Senior Celebration (optional, registration required)
Friday, April 18 at 6 p.m.
Hogan Center, Cappaert Gym
Seniors and supporters are invited to celebrate your accomplishments the night before commencement! You’ll enjoy heavy appetizers, games, and photo-ops during this laid back, fun event. Students are free, supporters are $20 each.

Graduating students are required to line up promptly at 1:00 p.m. at the entrance of Stone Recreation Center to process into the event. Plans may change due to weather and/or campus construction; check this site for updates. Please arrive with cap, gown, hood, and any honor cords.

Regalia
Graduating seniors are invited to acknowledge their academic achievements and participation in recognized leadership societies by wearing the following regalia — a stole, earned honor cords or pins and medallions— at commencement to showcase Alma’s commitment to diversity and leadership. Cords for academic honors will be available in the Registrar’s Office and stoles representing the cultural heritage or leadership societies will be distributed by respective offices within Student Affairs. Orders should be placed by March 13.
Candidates may personalize their mortarboard but under the following provisions: No derogatory, indecent, profane images or words are allowed on mortarboards. Anything deemed offensive will not be tolerated and candidates will be asked to remove their mortarboard. All other adornments and ornamentation including pins, flowers, necklaces, flags, brooches, etc. are not permitted. Graduates will be asked to remove any such adornments prior to entering the arena.

Graduate Photos
Graduating students may register for professional commencement photos.
Tickets
Tickets will be sent directly to graduates’ Alma email addresses on Friday, March 7, 2025.
- Each graduate is allotted eight complimentary commencement tickets; additional tickets are not available for purchase.
- If you don’t plan to use all your allotted tickets, we encourage you to connect with fellow graduates who may need them. Sharing tickets is allowed, as long as both parties agree on the quantity and usage. Please note each ticket contains a unique QR code, and it can only be scanned once.
- If you or one of your ticketed guest requires accessibility accommodations, please complete this form by 5:00 pm on April 11, 2025. Each request will be reviewed, and a response will be emailed back from our commencement email, commencement@alma.edu, which will include day-of instructions, as well as the number of members from your party that may accompany you in the accommodated seating section. To ensure all guests can fully participate in the commencement ceremony, we ask that you submit a separate request form for each guest requiring accommodations.
- An on-campus live viewing party will be held in the Thomas Andison Chapel. This space can accommodate additional friends and family members beyond the eight inside the Hogan Center. Additionally, the live stream link will be provided for remote viewing.

100 Day Home Stretch for Seniors
The last hundred days before they cross the commencement stage in April are full of exciting ones for our Alma College seniors! The college has designed a series of events to help you celebrate everything you’ve accomplished so far, prepare you for your next steps after graduation, and build ties to your alma mater as an official Alma College alumnus.
