Becoming a Scot Day

At Becoming a Scot Day, you’ll connect with faculty, staff, and current students and prepare for an experience that’s all yours at Alma College.

What to Expect

All incoming first-year and transfer students are required to sign up for a Becoming a Scot Day. By attending this event you will:

  • make meaningful connections
  • engage with members of the campus community
  • explore campus services at a resource fair
  • learn about college policies and expectations

You’ll also get a few things to take home!

  • Alma swag
  • ID card

Registration

To sign up, please select the in-person event date you would like to attend. After you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email with more details. The program will last from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with optional program offerings until 5 p.m.

On Friday, July 12, we’ll offer special programming and networking opportunities for incoming students of color and their families. Learn about programs and services like Campbell Scholars, King-Chávez-Parks, and the Julius Chatman Living Learning Community; hear from diversity-focused student organizations; meet current students of color and ask them questions; and start building your personal network of support.

Check In

We look forward to welcoming you to campus for Becoming A Scot Day. Check in each day runs from 9:15– 9:50 a.m. Our opening program will take place in Presbyterian Hall. There is ample parking available in the lots by the Heritage Center. Upon arrival, you will receive a complete schedule for the day.

Are you planning to be a student-athlete?

In the upcoming 2024-2025 season, all Incoming Student Athletes are required to undergo a physical examination conducted by the Athletic Training Staff and Team Physician. To avoid any delays in participating in your sport, we recommend that you sign up using the provided link. Physicals will take place at the Hogan Center Athletic Training Room from 4:00-7:00 p.m on Your Becoming a Scot Day. The cost for physicals is $20, and registration can be done through the link provided. Take this opportunity to meet our Athletic Training Staff and get ready for your Alma College Athletics journey.
