Establish a strong foundation in the health sciences.
Our curriculum examines community health from multiple angles. Study diseases, statistical modeling and public health policy development. And you’ll investigate how to address public health challenges, promote population health and contribute to the well-being of communities and societies.
You’ll also apply what you learn in the classroom in real-world settings. Many students undertake internships at hospitals and nursing facilities. Several of our courses include hands-on components, too. Examples include participating in heart screenings and leading exercise programs for elderly adults.
What You Need to Know
Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that between 2021 and 2031, two million new healthcare jobs will be created.
A degree in public health opens the door to a range of rewarding careers. Some of our students attend graduate school to obtain a master’s degree in public health. Others enter the job market directly. Our graduates hold positions in medicine, healthcare administration, public policy, education and communication, among others.
