Experiential Learning

We see the hidden possibilities, untapped passions, and unrecognized talents waiting to emerge.

We nurture them, fuel them, and turn them into something real.

On a campus that feels like home, you’ll have the space to explore, the support to push your limits, and the chance to not just learn, but to experience—hands-on, all in.

This is experiential learning: learning by doing. Whether it’s birding at the bog, interning on Broadway, here on campus or abroad, you’ll leave the world a little better than you found it, in a way that’s all your own.

Internships

Internships are hands-on work experiences that allow you to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a real-world setting. They provide valuable, practical experience, help you build skills in a professional environment, and allow you to explore whether a particular career path is right for you. Internships also help you grow your network, strengthen your resume, and often give you a competitive edge when applying for future jobs. At Alma College, internships are highly encouraged and even required for certain majors to ensure you are fully prepared for your career path.
