Faculty
Vinitha Rachel Varghese is an applied microeconomist with research interests in development economics and the economics of education. Her research encompasses impact evaluations of interventions aimed at closing schooling access and quality gaps in developing contexts. She has studied impacts of an adult education intervention using a randomized control experiment based in India. She has explored the impact of India’s Right to Education Act on school enrollment among children with disabilities. She has studied the impact of vertical school consolidations in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Her career at Alma College began in 2023.
