Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance

POSITION SUMMARY:

Alma College Department of Theatre and Dance seeks applicants for a full-time, visiting instructor in Dance to begin August 2023. Experience teaching contemporary dance form to levels ranging from beginner fundamentals to advanced required. The candidate must have experience choreographing group dances and be prepared to create at least two works for Alma College Dance Company throughout the 23-24 school year. Additional expertise in at least two of the following areas is required: Dance Philosophy, Dance Criticism, Anatomy and Kinesiology, Injury Prevention, Somatics, Dance Ethnology, Music for Dancers or Dance History. The selected candidate will support recruitment efforts and some audition events throughout the year.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

An M.F.A. in Dance with professional and/or academic experience is required.
