Biography
Matthew P. Hinkel is an assistant professor of economics. His career at Alma began in 2022. Matthew’s primary research stream examines how labor and employment law influences the operation of construction labor markets, with particular interests in worker misclassification, prevailing wage laws and project labor agreements. Additionally, in the context of professional and collegiate sports, Matthew’s research studies how union activism influences professional athletes during and after their playing careers, as well as what influences collegiate athletes to vote in favor of union representation.
