Anatomy Lab
In the Alma College Anatomy Lab, you’ll learn to see life in a new way. Thanks to a partnership with Wayne State University, our students engage directly in anatomical studies with real male and female bodies, to support their studies of integrative physiology and health sciences (IPHS) and nursing. Whether you’re pursuing a career in health and human performance or simply interested in exploring the complexities of human biology, the Anatomy Lab provides a unique educational experience that prepares you for success.
Learn about what makes “you”… you
At most other college anatomy labs, you’re watching and listening as a teaching assistant or faculty member does the work of dissecting a human body. But at Alma College, we believe you learn best by doing it yourself. Our students conduct their own dissections with close supervision and guidance from a faculty expert. The lab is furnished with advanced tools and a variety of anatomical models and histology samples.
Built for an experience that’s all yours
Students can begin using the Anatomy Lab as early as their first year and gain additional responsibilities as they progress toward their degree. Some students use the Anatomy Lab as an opportunity for research, which can then be presented at Honors Day or even be submitted for publication in an academic journal. The lab is located centrally on campus, in the McIntyre Center for Health Science, and is open multiple times a week. It’s even open in the evening, so you can fit learning sessions around your schedule.
