Director of International and Graduate Admissions – 26732

POSITION SUMMARY:

This key leadership position focuses on strategies to build enrollment for both International and Graduate Program new student populations at Alma College. The Director is responsible for planning and implementing recruitment strategies and activities in the Division of Enrollment Management. Reporting to the AVP, this role supports ongoing and new recruitment activities, requiring extensive travel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develops strong relationships with prospective students, college and university partners, embassies, and other individuals or organizations relevant to international and graduate programs.
• Collaborates with the AVP and Graduate Program Directors to develop, plan, and implement innovative recruitment and yield strategies for graduate students.
• Participates in international educational fairs, high school visits, college fairs, and other relevant organizations in support of student recruitment.
• Coordinate Graduate Program focused recruitment events, provide admissions presentations, review admission applications, conduct one-on-one meetings with campus visitors. Supports Graduate Program recruitment at select out of state college fairs and events.
• Manages the admissions funnel for both Graduate Programs and International students. Communicates with prospective student applicants, parents, advisors, and consultants to facilitate the admissions process. Works closely with Admissions Operations to effectively enroll new students.
• Oversees the review process of international applications and works closely with the Admissions Office, Financial Aid, Student Services, and Academic Affairs to manage the I-20 process, allowing international students to get the appropriate visa to study at the university.
• Meets individual enrollment goals as set by the AVP.
• Provides reports to the AVP detailing weekly recruitment results.
• Plans and execute recruitment events domestically and internationally.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the AVP.

REQUIRED QUALIFICIATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to operate a personal computer; experience with Microsoft Suite required.
• Experience with Google docs and an admissions CRM.
• Ability to work efficiently on multiple tasks both collaboratively and independently.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Flexible schedule that allows for work/travel outside of regular business hours including weeknights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to demonstrate self-direction and motivation.
• Valid passport.
• Ability to travel internationally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree.
• Slate CRM experience.
• Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations.
