POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Regional Assistant Director of Admissions is to educate, recruit and enroll prospective students to Alma College. This is a remote position, and the candidate is expected to reside within the state of Illinois. The primary territory is the state of Illinois with secondary recruiting in all other states excluding Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. This position includes fairly extensive required year-round travel to high schools and colleges throughout Illinois with some secondary travel to other states within the territory.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
This position reports to the associate director of admissions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Present and interact with large groups of prospective students, families, high school partners and educational partners.
- Develop and manage a pool of prospective students within their designated region.
- Counsel, advise, and maintain positive contact with prospective students and their families regarding academic programs, admissions requirements, scholarships, and student.
- Develop strategic partnerships with education constituents including counselors, principals, gifted and talented coordinators, AP teachers, Alma College alumni, and parents.
- Plan and implement effective recruitment strategies utilizing market research and ongoing trend analysis to set goals and monitor progress; coordinate recruiting support activities with Alma College alumni; and develop initiatives to promote and encourage diversity.
- Travel to campus when needed for events, training, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s required, in any field.
- 3+ years professional experience in admissions, recruitment, sales or non-profit work.
- Must have strong communications skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and other basic technology; Experience with Slate preferred or other higher education CRM.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Must be able to work alternative schedule, evenings and weekends as needed.
- This position requires frequent travel either by vehicle and/or travel by air.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations.
