POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Regional Admissions Counselor is to recruit prospective students to apply and to educate these students and their families about Alma College and its programs. This is a remote position, and the candidate is expected to reside within the assigned territory. This position includes fairly extensive required year-round travel to high schools and colleges throughout the assigned territory. The candidate is required to give presentations and interact with large groups of prospective and admitted students, families, high school partners and educational partners. The candidate will develop and manage a pool of students throughout the enrollment funnel within their designated region. They will counsel, advise, and maintain positive contact with prospective students and their families regarding academic programs, admissions requirements, scholarships, and student life.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Regional Admissions Counselor will develop strategic partnerships with education constituents including counselors, principals, AP teachers, Alma College alumni, and parents. This position will plan and implement effective recruitment strategies utilizing market research and ongoing trend analysis to set goals and monitor progress; coordinate recruiting support activities with Alma College alumni; and develop initiatives to promote and encourage diversity. As part of the Admissions Team, the candidate will have necessary travel to campus for special
events, training, meetings, etc. This position will assume other related areas of responsibility as assigned or required by the Senior Director of Recruitment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years professional experience in admissions, recruitment, or non-profit work.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Experience or aptitude working with a CRM and technology resources.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must be able to work alternative schedule, evenings and weekends as needed.
• This position requires frequent travel either by vehicle and/or travel by air.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
